  1. First version deployed to a preview URL

The first version is live on a preview URL. Session dates now come from a single data file, and the home page scores 98 on mobile Lighthouse. Next: review with the board.

  2. Kick-off and content audit

Collected feedback from volunteers and students about the old site. The clear winner among requests: show the next repair session on the front page, with date, time and location.

  3. Shooter v2 — redesigned cam and stiffer spring

The first shooter undershot by about 30 %. After measuring the actual spring constant on a tensile tester, I redesigned the cam profile. Landing accuracy at 1 m improved from ±40 mm to ±12 mm across 20 test shots.

  4. First complete lap on the test track

After two weeks of tuning, the prototype completed its first full lap without leaving the line. The PID controller still oscillates on tight curves, so the next step is adding a derivative filter and logging sensor data at higher frequency.

  1. Final report submitted

Submitted the final report with the comparison between the hinge fork and a rigid reference fork. Key takeaway: the hinge buys a lot of comfort for very little lateral stiffness.

  2. FE model of the hinge region converged

Mesh convergence study done: refining the hinge region below 1 mm element size changed peak stresses by less than 2 %, so the model is good enough for the comparison study.
